This Selenite Tealight Votive is cut from selenite, a semiprecious mineral whose name derives from Moonstone. The ancients believed that these transparent crystals waxed and waned with the moon. This votive has the solidity of artisan-crafted decor and a soft, translucent glow with a burning tealight inside. Selenite can be used to dispel negativity and is considered a stone of love according to some traditions of crystal healing. Fits a tealight or small votive candle. Sourced from Fantastic Caverns in Springfield, Missouri.

Fantastic Caverns

Springfield, MO

A small, family owned business, it was discovered in 1862 by an Ozarks farmer — or more precisely, by his dog, who crawled through an entrance. It wasn’t until five years later that the first exploration took place: 12 women from Springfield, Missouri, answering a newspaper ad seeking explorers, ventured into the cave. Their names remain on a cave wall today. The cave is the only ride-through cave in the United States and toured by jeep-drawn trams.
